Raised in Malibu, California, Grayson Thomas has lived and breathed music for as long as he can remember. From playing piano as a child to working in the studio he grew up in, his creative journey is shaped by both early hands-on experience and formal education. Today, he’s studying music production, songwriting, and engineering at the University of Southern California, continuing to refine a sound that’s deeply personal yet sonically versatile.

Growing up in a professional recording studio, Grayson developed his craft from the ground up, experimenting with drum tones, assisting sessions, and eventually running his own. That early exposure gave him a strong foundation in capturing live performances with intention and detail. He continues to engineer and produce in the same space, and has set up and operated multi-week bookings and writing camps for notable artists like Don Toliver, Frank Ocean, Faye Webster, and Cody Jinks.

At USC, Grayson serves as the lead engineer for the university’s recording facilities, collaborating with ensembles across genres. From jazz trios and pop acts to brass sections and film scoring students, he thrives in the studio environment. It was at USC that Grayson honed one of his greatest strengths as a producer: the ability to communicate and collaborate with writers, artists, and session musicians to bring a clear creative vision to life.

Whether behind the console or the piano, Grayson brings a deep passion for storytelling through sound. He’s committed to helping artists create work that feels honest, resonant, and built to last.

If you’re looking for a music producer, songwriter, engineer, or collaborator who’s as invested in your vision as you are, let’s make something special.
